Life: God’s Virtual Reality

by Mark A. Staton

The Purpose of Life, I

The purpose of life is to perfect your immortal soul. As you perfect your soul, according to God's scale of "goodness", your soul moves closer to God's center. Souls progress at different rates. Sometimes they fall back, but they always have the opportunity to try the next step forward again. Some souls are content with their current level, and stop trying to advance. Other souls feel such a strong desire to be closer to God's essence, that they cannot imagine being content apart from God's center. The choice is up to your soul.

Some souls try to learn and advance just by sharing thoughts with other souls. This works slowly, if at all. Although sharing thoughts is much more powerful than talking, the difference in learning is still similar to someone else reading a book and telling you about it, rather than reading it for yourself. It is much better for two or more people to read the book, and then share their thoughts about it. In Heaven, this equates to souls experiencing "lives" directly, rather than sharing memories afterward. The souls that seek to connect with a body, and experience a life, usually advance the fastest.

Many souls experience multiple lives. They take a chance every time they seek a new life experience. There is no guarantee they will have a "good" life, or one that will help them to advance in Heaven. They may have such a bad experience that they regress. Of course, the benefit of living multiple lives is that the potential impact of any one life experience is lessened. Unfortunately, this is also true of potential "good" effects. However, falling down is usually a bigger negative change than climbing up is a positive change. After the reconciliation process with the souls encountered during the life experience just ended, the soul regains its memories of its other lives, if any, and of its existence within Heaven.

Another method of learning about the "goodness" scale, and how you might advance upon it, is to visit other levels. From most levels, souls can visit up one level or at most down two. As souls advance, their ability to visit up higher and down lower increases somewhat, but the ability to visit lower levels increases faster than the ability to visit higher levels. At the lowest level, there is no "down" to visit, and most souls at that level lack the ability to visit up one level without help. At the highest, of the main levels, the souls have the ability to visit any of the other main levels below them, but only a few of them will have the ability to visit the second level of the inner circle. There is a large change between the highest level of the main spectrum, the "rainbow" of Heaven, and the inner circle. The inner circle is where souls that have become "guardians" reside.

To all souls below the inner circle, the guardians appear to have an aura of brilliant white light. The guardians' energy maintains the neutral zones used during the reconciliation process, and they act as mediators and facilitators during the process. The guardians, and the inner circle will be covered separately.

While visiting the level just above your soul's current one, it is common to feel mystified at what makes them any "better" than your soul. They will try to tell your soul what it needs to know, but understanding and changing your soul's essence can be quite difficult. Usually, visiting up one level helps your soul learn enough so your soul can visit there more easily, but not usually enough for your soul to stay there.

Visiting down two levels is difficult, tiring, and frustrating. The souls there have great difficulty understanding what your soul wants to share with them. Most of them will see your soul as being too far advanced for them to actually reach. A few will see beyond their current limitations, and will make a large step forward. Mostly, your soul will serve as a good example. Your soul can represent a goal for which they can strive.

Visiting down one level is usually the most beneficial to both sides. Your soul tries to convey the ideas it has recently learned, to other souls who need to learn the same lessons, and many of whom are close to moving up to your soul's current level. As your soul plays the part of a teacher, it often ends up learning from the students. Going through the process of explaining new ideas to less advanced souls will likely enhance your soul's ability to benefit from visiting one level up, and understanding more about the process the more advanced souls are going through in their efforts to help your soul.

As your soul advances through the levels of Heaven toward God's center, it becomes closer to perfection in God's eyes, and more similar to God Himself/Herself. As your soul is experiencing a life, it is attempting to learn enough to take the next step on the path to perfection. Therefore, one of your goals in life should be to learn as much as possible, not just facts, but wisdom. For instead of merely relearning things you've learned before, you want to learn enough for your soul to be able to take the next step.
