Spiritual Levels: Red

The Red level is structured similar to the White center of Heaven, in that it consists of many small levels. Just past the edge of the Orange level, is the top layer of Red, which includes several small levels, or steps. You find a great many souls that have forced themselves down into the top Red layer in a misguided attempt to punish themselves. They usually avoid communicating with the other souls there. There are also many who failed to learn from their experiences on higher levels and eventually ended up moving farther away from God. These are the souls most likely to turn themselves around. They are still reachable by souls determined to get through to them, and often it is only a single lesson they must learn to move farther up.

The middle layer of the Red level is filled with souls that exist in isolation. They do not communicate with other souls, and are trapped within themselves -- usually in a nightmare of their own devising. This layer is the beginning of what we commonly refer to as Hell. However, God does not condemn any soul there for eternity. As soon as a soul in Hell changes for the better, it immediately moves up to its new level. Unfortunately, they are very difficult to help, because they usually ignore all other souls. Sometimes, when they are drawn to a reconciliation event by a being of light, the process helps change them enough that they don't go back to that level. It is true that some souls are there tormenting themselves for a very long time. As with the top layer, the middle layer also consists of several small levels, or steps.

The bottom layer of the Red level has more steps than the top and middle combined. This is because God never forces a soul to separate from Him, no matter how bad. The souls that reach this level actively seek out other souls. They broke free of their own nightmares by going even lower. They do not seek to communicate with, but to dominate other souls. They frequently use their strength to inflict their nightmares on other souls, and to force them to do their bidding. These souls are most like the Evil one. They not only do evil things themselves, but try to force others to do evil. The lessons here are harsh and cruel, but sometimes the experience is what these souls need to change their ways. Souls that try to escape by going even lower find stronger and more terrible souls waiting for them. A few poor souls actually separate from God in an attempt to get away, and end up being consumed by the Evil one, and lost forever.

Ironically, having the worst souls around God's perimeter works very well as a defense against the Evil one. The Evil one learned from past experience that God was too powerful to attack directly, and so it will approach just close enough to lure souls away from God, where it can take control of them and strip them of their identities. They become the slaves of the Evil one. The most common, and successful ploy of the Evil one, is to tell the souls from God's lowest level that they are actually at the top of evil, and have earned the right to be his officers. Only very rarely will this be true, for once they are in the Evil one's power, he can do whatever he wants to them. Fortunately, the souls most unlike God, are also the most untrusting, hateful, and vicious souls imaginable. The only reason they would decide to join with the Evil one is if they thought they could conquer him, and only the most foolish souls think that. It is possible for a soul to separate from God, and not be immediately grabbed by the Evil one. If they can manage to rejoin God, they can be saved. If not, they are usually lost to Evil's oblivion.
