Spiritual Levels: Orange

The Orange level is the lowest of what I think of as 'normal.' From the Orange level, through Yellow, to Green, you will find the most souls. It is common for souls to shift among these three levels as they are learning fundamental lessons and making different mistakes. At higher levels, it is common to shift back and forth between two levels, but at lower levels are most of the inexperienced souls, and the swing is larger.

The Orange level also has many souls that have only experienced one life, and where they didn't do very well. As in the Red level, some of the souls are punishing themselves for their misdeeds. Higher level souls, above Green, usually realize that God does not want that of them, but simply for them to change for the better. If you insist on atoning for past misdeeds, it is far better to help others, than to punish yourself.

Souls at the Orange level have good in them, but they have somewhat more bad. Most of the souls there wonder why the other souls are not nicer. It is far easier to see what is wrong with others than to look inside ourselves for faults. Many of them really think they are basically good, and can't understand what they could possibly have in common with the bad souls around them.

Souls at the Orange level can visit the Red level, but quickly learn NOT to. It is obvious that souls there have problems, and it is uncomfortable to be around them. They can also visit the Yellow level for brief periods, but they can't figure out how the souls there are any better than they are. In fact, it is not clear to them yet that Yellow souls are supposed to be somewhat better. They assume there must be some trick to staying there, and not tiring like they do, or some other reason they seem stuck at Orange.

As in moving from violet to white, there is a relatively large transition between Red and Orange. Unlike the Red level, the Orange level is fairly broad, but still perceived as one large level where souls can easily move around. Souls don't usually move down to Red again, unless they make significant mistakes that change them for the worse. It is primarily anger which is either self-directed or directed at others that leads souls down to the Red level. Perhaps that is one of the reasons when someone is angry we say they 'see red.'
